About Bailey

Land development is the only work we do.

Bailey Engineering partners with experienced developers shaping some of the fastest-growing communities in the Treasure Valley. Our projects are visible, long-term, and consequential — neighborhoods people will live in for decades.

We are structured, process-driven, and deadline-focused. Our developer clients expect clarity and execution — and we deliver both.

We are seeking a motivated civil engineering student for a hands-on internship working on active subdivision projects. This is real engineering work — not fetching coffee or filing paperwork. The internship may convert to a full-time position upon completion.

Real projects. Real experience. Held to the same standards as the rest of the team. Bailey Engineering
Section 01

What you would learn.

You would work alongside licensed Professional Engineers on active subdivision projects — exposed to the full civil land development process. That includes:

  • Surveying and field data collection
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D production
  • Grading design for subdivision projects
  • Drainage and stormwater analysis
  • Utility design and coordination
  • SWPPP preparation and groundwater monitoring
  • Code review and agency submittals
  • Construction inspection and field support

You'll be held to the same professional standards as the rest of the team — and supported every step of the way.

Section 02

How we operate.

01

Continuous Improvement

02

Own It!

We take responsibility for deadlines and outcomes.

03

Do the Math

We think before we draw.

04

We Not Me!

We collaborate above the line.

Interns are part of the team. The same expectations. The same support. The same chance to contribute meaningfully.

  • Contributing meaningfully to active subdivision projects
  • Developing real Civil 3D proficiency
  • Understanding the complete land development lifecycle
  • Demonstrating initiative, reliability, and curiosity

  • Exposure to developer clients and live agency work
  • Clear conversion path to full-time hire
  • Long-term PE-track support if you stay

We are building intentionally — and we are interested in students who want to grow into the firm, not just check a box on a résumé.

Qualifications.

  • Currently enrolled in (or recent graduate of) a four-year ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
